FixDoor joined the 11th Annual Boots & BBQ Benefiting CASA for the Highland Lakes Area as an Investor Sponsor on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Horseshoe Bay Resort’s Granite Ballroom. The event brought together local businesses, builders, and community members to support CASA’s mission to recruit, train, and empower volunteer advocates for children in foster care across Burnet, Blanco, Llano, Lampasas, and San Saba counties.

As part of the sponsorship, FixDoor donated a premium garage door to a deserving family, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting the local community beyond garage door service.

FixDoor’s Role in Supporting CASA

For Shelby Palmer, founder of FixDoor, supporting CASA is deeply personal.

He shared how mentorship and opportunity shaped his career in the garage door industry. After losing his father at a young age, Shelby experienced how difficult life transitions can be without guidance and support. That experience continues to shape his commitment to helping others.

Shelby believes CASA ensures children facing difficult circumstances have someone advocating for them — someone who can help change the direction of their future. Through Boots & BBQ, FixDoor creates opportunities for others, just as mentors once did for him.

Event Highlights and Community Connections

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was seeing the strong support CASA receives from the local building community.

Shelby highlighted the ongoing involvement of Grubbs Construction, Gage and Cade Construction, and Brittany Grubbs, who introduced FixDoor to CASA and the Boots & BBQ event. Their leadership helped establish FixDoor’s continued support for CASA’s fundraising efforts.

Supporting Children Through Community Action

FixDoor’s donation and sponsorship directly support CASA’s work with children navigating the foster care system.

Shelby explained that sometimes the difference between struggle and success is simply having a caring adult involved in a child’s life. CASA’s volunteer advocates provide that support, helping children overcome early challenges and build stronger futures.

Living the “Better, Faster, Humble” Ethos

FixDoor’s participation reflects the company’s core philosophy:

Better. Faster. Humble.

These values guide both FixDoor’s customer service and community involvement.

Shelby describes these principles as relevant not only in business but in everyday life — as colleagues, friends, and family members. Supporting CASA provides a practical way to live those values by helping others grow, succeed, and reach goals they once thought were impossible.

He notes that few things are more rewarding than watching someone improve their life and achieve success, whether that is a technician building a career or a child receiving the support they need to move forward.

Continuing Commitment to the Highland Lakes Community

FixDoor supports the Boots & BBQ event as part of its broader commitment to the Highland Lakes community. By supporting CASA and participating in local initiatives, the company strengthens its connection to the people and organizations it serves.

Events like Boots & BBQ show how businesses, nonprofits, and community members can work together to create meaningful impact.

FixDoor looks forward to continuing its support for CASA and similar initiatives in the years ahead.
